Great Monuments Visits:

These walks give you a good overview of the history of Toulouse through many of its most famous and beautiful monuments.

Visit 1: We begin at the Capitole Square and the City Hall, then go up the rue de Taur, passing beautiful Renaissance doorways, the buildings of the first university in Toulouse created in 1229, on to the Basilica St. Sernin, and then we finish with a visit to the magnificent Jacobin Monastery.

Visit 2: We begin at the St. Raymond Archeology Museum, built on Roman ruins, go into the Basilica St. Sernin, the majestic Romanesque church, then on to the Capitole Square with its Henry IVth courtyard, and follow along the banks of the Garonne River, to finish in the courtyard of the magnificent Hotel Assezat.

Visit 3: We begin at St. Etienne, the strange cathedral built with two naves, go across the esplanade which has the oldest fountain in Toulouse, getting a chance to look at the medieval houses that surround the fountain, then go on to the Augustins Museum. We continue to the very elegant Place St George, finishing the walk at the beautiful, brick Place Wilson.
