FAQ

How do we know where to meet?

The Great Monuments Tour always begins at the entrance to the St Sernin church. Most of the other walks and visits begin at a metro stop or at a major monument that is easy to find. The meeting place is indicated by Elyse when you book the tour. If there are questions or any exceptional demands, contact her directly.

What happens if it rains?

The walks and tours go rain or shine (with a very few exceptions!) So just carry an umbrella or wear rain gear if the forecast is for inclement weather.

What should we wear or take with us on the walk?

Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry a bottle of water if you think it needed. (the walks vary, but there are cobblestones and some walks are long)

When are the tours? Is there a specific time of day that is best?

Most of the standard or half day visits are in the morning. There are also sunset walks and afternoon walks when preferred. You can decide what is best for you!

Are there stops along the way for a drink or a meal?

The standard walk lasts a little over two hours, so no meal or drink stops are included. A quick coffee stop can be requested. Meals are only included in full day tours

The visits are for up to 10 people. What is the cost for more than ten?

The individual tours are kept small and intimate for you! If you wish to add on other people we can adjust the rate accordingly with a per-head add on (but never more than 14 people). Agency and corporate groups can arrange a visit for up to 20 people at a slightly higher rate.

How do we reserve a visit?

You can reserve a visit by contacting Elyse.  Go to the Contact page for more details. Deposits are necessary to hold a reservation and can be made through PayPal or through a bank transfer. The balance of the payment can be made at the time of the visit, in cash or by check if from a French account.

Is it possible to have a visit in French?

Yes it is – please make clear that you wish to have a visit in French at the time of the reservation.

What if we would like to have a visit to a place that is not mentioned on the website?

No problem! Just write or call Elyse and we can see what can be arranged. (Note that custom designed walks or visits require more preparation and therefore more advance notice!)

What do we do if we want an out of town visit?

Most of the sites in the area around Toulouse, especially those mentioned in the podcasts, are possible visits. Contact Elyse to make arrangements.

What happens if a visit must be cancelled?

If you paid a deposit:  Deposits can be refunded and or applied to a future walk for cancellations more than three days prior to the walk.

If you prepaid in full:  The full amount can be refunded or applied to a future walk for cancellations more than three days prior to the walk, or after that the amount minus the deposit can be refunded or applied to a future walk.

Is it possible to have a visit or walk at the very last minute?

It’s worth a try!  If Elyse is available, she could certainly do any of her regular walks even on short notice.  Contact her to see if she’s free.

Are your tours appropriate for children?

Most walks and visits are more appropriate for children over the age of ten. Park walks and some musuem visits (when they have interactive exhibits) can work for younger children.  If bringing children, let Elyse know when planning your trip so that this can be taken into consideration.
